This course is designed to hone the basic skills learned in Level 3 Stitch and Level 4 Design, to build upon them to develop more highly advanced embroidery and design skills. The course covers some study of foreign embroidery, history of embroidery through the 20th Century, and metal thread embroidery. All of this is aimed at the development of a more experimental technique and individual style of working. Students also learn the skills of museum study, research, and reporting. Large scale and exceptionally detailed assessments are completed.
Prerequisite: Open to any student that is enrolled in or has completed Level 4 Research for Advanced Design. If you’re not sure if you may qualify, please feel free to contact Gail for clarification.
