5″ x 7″ artwork by Christina Fairley Erickson. Inspired by Ottoman Turkish design, this piece is on a hand-dyed linen ground with pearl rayon, pearl cotton and Kreinik metalic threads.Stitches include traditional and Turkish embroidery stitches: satin and raised satin stitch, “balik sirti” or fishbone stitch, backstitch, “sira ishi” (like double-running stitch), “verev sira” (like double-running on an angle and couching. Padded and laced over mat board.
