Ruth’s thoughtful and imaginative multimedia and textile artwork is inspired by trees, ancient forests, myths, and the idea that trees have stories to tell when we take time to look closely. She opens her sketchbooks to us and talks about the planning and making of The Forgotten One, a ten-foot, three-dimensional tree, and how she chose, tested, and worked with her materials along the way.
Ruth is a graduating student of Level 4 Experimental Research for Art and Design and Level 4 Diploma Studies in Experimental Stitch and Multi – Media at the Gail Harker Center for Creative Arts.
