Combining design, sketchbook work, fabric painting, historic/cultural studies and hand stitching, this course will move you from learning the meditative running stitch pictures (aka kantha embroidery) to creating a piece of your own design! You’ll develop your own portfolio of kantha stitch samples.  simple design skills will be shared to help you interpret your own ideas into stitch.  Derive inspiration and design ideas from historical and contemporary stitch studies. In addition to the 3 days in the studio, the online session will provide backup for you and your embroideries in progress.  Part of our Level 2 Hand Stitch Certificate Course Series, but no experience is necessary. This class may be purchased as part of the entire Level 2 Course of Stitch and Design (click here to see the entire course of study!) This series includes basic to intermediate coursework that teaches the student how to learn to work as a textile artist and gives a discount for the student who signs up for the whole series.

Alternatively, students can purchase any of the level 2 courses as a stand-alone, individual class.
