Explore the sumptuous textiles from the exotic courts of the Ottoman empire up to modern-day Türkiye. We’ll be exploring both hand and machine embroidery inspired by historic Turkish Tulip designs. Learn to transfer a pattern to hand-dyed linen and then use exquisite threads to fill your tulip design! Experiment with Pearl rayons, pearl silks, and metallic threads. Day one will focus on hand stitch. Day two will introduce machine stitch or continue with exploring hand embroidery, depending upon your interest. See slideshows of both historic and contemporary Turkish embroidery to inspire you!
